HOW WILL BREXIT AFFECT OUR EUROPEAN COURIER SERVICE?

The UK has now officially left the European Union, so many of our customers might be wondering what impact Brexit could have the process of moving goods between the UK and Europe.

Some of the details of the UK’s departure are still being decided, so at the moment we are advising customers to stay up to date with the latest information from the Department of Transport.

However, as experts in providing an express European courier service to and from the UK and across the whole of mainland Europe, Sameday Freight have been planning for Brexit for some time.

We have all the people and processes in place to facilitate the speedy movement of goods at major ports across the whole of Europe. While there may be occasional delays during the UK’s transition, we will still endeavour to provide a reliable, same day or next day European courier service.

We would therefore like to assure all our customers that however UK and EU haulage regulations evolve, we will continue to move your freight in the quickest time possible, including by air freight if your item is especially urgent.

Sameday Freight regularly collect items from France, Spain and Germany, and some of our most popular locations include Madrid, Barcelona, Munich, Berlin, Paris and Lyon. We can also collect and deliver consignments to the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria and Switzerland, as well as mainland Italy, Greece, Portugal, Scandinavia and parts of Eastern Europe.

From 1st January 2021, customers must complete all their own paperwork, make relevant customs declarations, obtain clearance for the shipment of their goods and ensure we are provided with the correct documents, prior to booking a collection.

However, Sameday Freight have agents in place at Dover who can support customers with documentation if needed, and we can help to facilitate your goods being cleared prior to shipment.

Sameday Freight and our dedicated network of drivers have all the relevant documents and permits required under the new UK and EU regulations, including operator licences, CPC qualifications, community licenses, international driving permits (IDP) and ECMT permits where applicable.

For larger items couriered to Europe by road, our extensive fleet of vehicles start from small sized vans and Sprinter or Transit type vans in short, long and extra-long wheelbase formats, extending up to 3.5 ton Luton curtain siders, 7.5 ton curtainsiders and 44 ft articulated vehicles.

For smaller or especially urgent items, Sameday Freight can also arrange air charter freight bookings from airports in London, Birmingham or Manchester to Europe on your behalf.
